Hey I have a question about wine.
Just for a example say I soak castor in red wine or wine.

Will it be a difference smell profile
And why because ones ees grapes and one whites.
Which would better for a better smell profile for anybsoaking.
If anyone has experienced this before.

And will any brand of wine work for that.

Wine????? Most folks use Vodka, because it has no odor, to leach out odors for baits/call lures.

I believe that Mr Dobbins has commented on wine soaked castor in the past. Hopefully he chimes in.

It would be fun to give some wine, that castor was soaked in, to a wine taster and then watch their reaction as they sniff the bouquet.

Dave Edwards liked his castors soaked in Burgandy wine. He said it fires them up. Back when I supplied him with castor, I'd do the soakiing for about 6 months.

Dave said to buy the cheapest Burgandy you could find.
The rest is "right".

i do a batch every year of castor that i hang and age then put in a clean jar and cover with a fall harvest red wine and 2 shots of PGA or a good moonshine then let that soak for a year and grind twice the end product is somthing special
and as far as the soaking brine i add the same amount of glycerin to get a rich smelling castorium product i use in formulation

Burgundy is Pinot Noir grapes. So if you dont see burgundy look for Pinot noir. The price tag will be a lot cheaper if it says Pinot instead of burgundy...

last year I had a couple of caster that I soaked in wine for six months,I put a dab on a sand bar for a test . The next day the place was all torn up with three piles of beaver scat around the area, I have never seen beavers poop on land before. I forgot to mention that I ground the castor and shaved the wine.
