I would like to know if this is a specific breed or type or mongrel !

It's a 12 year old workhorse he uses for tilling people's vegetable gardens and similar tasks. He keeps calling it konik, which is a diminutive from kon' (horse), the English analog is a pony, probably? Konik also means grasshopper in Ukrainian. He also calls him a "gutsulik", so it's probably a Hucul pony.
