Awesome, I have a few traps that I still use butterfly stakes on just for nostalgia, they still hold everything I catch in them. Nice gift K snow! Tight chains Ashley. Eric

I still use some of them in areas with sandy or recently plowed areas.

They act like its some sort of character flaw. It shows strength, and determination.

Never give up the rebar.
Have some butterflies A famous Pa Warden gave me.
If he'd have signed them they'd be worth,
a buck a piece lol.

What ever happened to the
"Are you still packin rebar?" guy?
Seemed a big contributor here.

Good on you k snow!!!

And those double stake swivels and using rebar is the best rig for rocky soil.

Most of my trapping is in glacial till. What dirt we have is high clay content and 8 to 12 inches deep, then its anything from sand to rocks bigger than a truck.
If the first stake goes in easy-ish, I add the second. If I have to wail on the first stake to get it in, then one is good enough.

Hey! Quit calling our staking methods “old school.” Ha ha grin

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

That staking method is space age compared to your double long's. Way to keep it old.
