Another great BG video from Todd. Looks like a good solution to fix a horrible trigger. I did the same with a Bridger 160, but used a Belisle trigger clip. Hopefully word gets back and they start shipping them like that from the factory.

The dog on the BMI 110 and Belisle BG's is about half as thick as the Bridger. With springs holding it in tension, the extra surface area of the wide dog may create enough friction to require more force to fire it.....and even more so once it rusts up. Try grinding one down to half thickness and see if that helps to fire easier.

As near as I can tell, to get the 4 way trigger response, the opening in the trigger clip where the dog fits has to be wide and the loop big. The clip has to be able to rock side to side so it can lift enough to pry the dog off the bar.

The Bridger 150 has been out for probably 15 years and they still haven’t fixed that trigger so I doubt they’ll start now. Same thing with the Bridger 1.5 pan that bends into a hot dog bun

Yes you need a sloppy loop in the trigger to get the 4-way effect.

I’m going to wax these 150s at some point and I think they will have a very light throw then.

That 220 bolt on trigger works great on a Bridger 160 too and I assume on the 159.

Excellent modification. Thank-you.

I replaced all my #110s years ago and replaced them with these #150s. Two reasons: bigger inside space and they fit the KB stabilizer perfectly whereas the #110 never did set right on the KB. My go to setup for the BE set.

Another way to make a trap with 4 way trigger more sensitive......if you offset the clip to one side, set the dog in the clip opening as far away from the open side of trap as you can. That amplifies the movement of the trigger wire on the clip to pry the dog off.

Now that Tim and Rob have a bit more free time they have been working on improving the Bridger line. The pans on the 1 1/2 and 1 3/4 are now being made with heavier material to prevent them from bending. Moving forward, the #330 has larger spring eyes to prevent it from getting bound up on the rivet, as well as from getting caught if it slips over the corner. It also features a new trigger that is more crisp than the old style one. More improvements are on the way for other traps as well.

Since the Cavens are updating traps, if they took the 1.5 coil and added the 1.75 square regular jaws (basically a 1.75 with NO baseplate) and put an oversized pan on it I think it would be a hit with mink and muskrat trappers.

Todd, I run the Wild River mink pan on my #1.5s and love them! I mostly use them for pocket sets and have held many incidental otter and beaver in them. The old square jaw Northwoods are still my all-time favorite, but it's probably for nostalgic reasons.

I have some set up like that too. I just like the square jaws a little better as it offers the full jawspread over a greater portion of the jaw.
