wait gets longer with every day the Gov is closed
I put in papers the day before the shut down
all the papers are still the same , I call it papers , I bought my suppressor from silencer shop they have a kiosk at a local store so no actual paper has been touched, I ordered the suppressor , then that prompted me to make an ATF account then when I had that I went to the kiosk where they helped me with the finger print and photo process.
when I get my tax stamp verification then it will be a day or tow till I can go pick up my suppressor
I did pay the 200 , I calculated the risk the sale that was on vs demand on Jan 2 I think I will be even up $ wise.

Buy from Silencer Central in Sioux Falls, Sd. They take care of the $200 Tax Stamp and do all the paperwork for you. And they’re fast!

I refuse to play that game to buy a muffler. They do away with it I will. I think a suppressed 22lr would be nice for small game.

Similar to grumpy old man, refused to pay for a muffler and yes shooting suppressed 22LR is nice just have to use right ammo. CCI Quite (750fps) does not cycle Ruger 10/22 the thunderbolt still has a pretty good bark the CCI Varmit (1065/1075 fps) is quiet the action of the bolt makes more noise than the round and groups pretty decently. At least Good enough to do head shots on rock chucks out to 100 yards. Heads up for those that don't know 22LR is nasty dirty was really surprised after a 100 round day punching paper then looking inside the can.

I always hated the fingerprinting. The whole process felt like I was needlessly being handled by pigs. Hope that they become over the counter items.
You don’t even have to go have it done anymore. They send you the fingerprint card. You do it in your living room. Or your kitchen. lol.

Silencer central is a bad company in my book. They got with the government and stated they think the supressors need to stay on the NFA list and you need to jump hoops to get one. They just dont want to lose business if they made access to em easier. Pretty shady.

I like a light coat of white grease on the ammo it helps 10/22 suppressed cycle. It does get very dirty quick. I am moving to a bolt 22. You can do them digitally at a silincer shop kiosk at any gun shop tht has one. There are two Silencer Shop dealers locally, but neither have a kiosk. They do the old school ink method.

You gotta be fingerprinted for those things? Good Lord. That's what I say!! You don't have to be fingerprinted for an AR, but if you buy one of those evil sound mufflers you will be fingerprinted and forced to jump through a crap ton of legal hoops. All to make a gun quieter so idiots won't complain. I mean they are required in England, but if you get one hear you are a shady suspect. Again, Good LORD!!! It's the snares and foothold argument. Snares bad in several states but footholds ok. Footholds bad in some states but snares ok. Absolute stupidity.
How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

Without ink? They have that new “ink”. They send a pad about the size of a match book. It’s not like the old ink you had to roll out. It’s clean.

Been shooting suppressed since '04
Unlike most on here , I live in a heavily populated area. Suppressors are very useful here than compared to rural areas , less problems with disturbing the general public at large.

Sheriff's office here will do them for $20. Closest SS kiosk is $40 the suppressor shop kiosk didn't charge anything at the place I used didn't charge anything , it is a one time , follow the prompts on the screen and get your finger prints done on the scanner after paying the cost of the suppressor , the 25 dollars for the single shot trust , and the 205 for the ATF no one else charges anything , the extra 5 is a expedite electronic fee or something like that.

Looks like it'd hold heat in? Its to keep the heat waves down and from distortion of your sight pictures. Can keep from getin burnt as well. Never used one myself im not a high speed operator that shoots high volume rapid shots.

Was that the shop.you transferred through? Some SS dealers don't have kiosks, so if you use them, then go to one that does, they'll charge for using it, since they're not making anything off the transaction.

yes I specifically choose the dealer with the Kiosk to do my transfer through on the silencer shop web page. there is only one in Green county the next closest was a drive. they are a decent shop and they did the picture as well so process was order over the phone with silencer shop , set up atf account , go to kiosk with silencer shop user and pw and atf user and pw in wallet , then the DocuSign that comes via email. they assigned my serial number and the dealer certified it steps remaining get email from ATF that I am approved , then do a meeting online with dealer and silencer shop then I can take possession at dealer.

the approval time was a little off , hard to tell exact as the Gov was closed for a while.
I got my stuff with silencer shop all done 10/1 as the government shut down , 10/20 is when the ATF was supposed to re-open my stuff didn't certify till 11/3 at my local dealer I thought when I called them on 10/31 after getting a SS email it was being certified that day , apparently they got busy and got to it Monday the 3rd so 7 day wait from certification and it may take some days for your order to process and dealer to certify
not exactly sure what the holdup was besides Gov being closed but I knew it could take some time.

Buy from Silencer Central in Sioux Falls, Sd. They take care of the $200 Tax Stamp and do all the paperwork for you. They jack up the price of there suppressor is why they pay it. Ask me how I know.

I found my 36m was more than $300 cheaper at a local dealer that used silincer shop than it was at the time at silincer central. So even with silincer central promo discount the local shop was $100 less with me paying the taxes stamp. It pays to shop around sometimes.
