I recently acuired this old Sabo trap and have never seen one until now. Is there a special tool that is needed to set it ? I am confused as to how it works. I am thinking about selling it. Not sure what its worth. Does anybody have any idea where I can find out its value?

There are two types of setters for the Sabo. The setter on the top is the most common.

looking at that I bet if you took a cheap pair of multi groove pliers and welded a pin to one jaw you could set that fairly easy , might even be able to just grind down one jaw to fit the pin hole with a die grinder

I have no idea what the value is , it seems to be basically a very complicated RBG with no concern for a spring sticking off the side.

each side has one lever to hold the jaws shut , each spring is for one lever
compress the spring by placing a pin like the tool has in the hold and pulling the lever back compressing the spring , hold that jaw open while getting the other side compressed

then move the center trigger over and tuck the tabs on the jaws behind the ends of the trigger rod

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

The setters in the photo are from The Trap Collectors Guide, I don't have any to sell. I have a couple of Sabo's but no setters for them.
