Went for a walk about and noticed a couple spots where they are digging in the bottom of the ditches. I’m guessing they are looking for water?

lol, was slug hunting in deep snow one time, decent buck trots past at about 30 yards.....fired and off he went, no hair, blood, nothing...completely perplexed...

Go back to the scene of the crime and finally noticed a 1 1/2" maple sapling with a perfectly centered 3/4" hole through it........

On a brighter note, the reds are still working the pole.

What do have on that pole Partner?
I trap for fox in sand near the ocean and I swear those reds are nose blind. I have a situation where I have to catch the last one to protect ground nesters.
Send me a PM. I'll keep your secret.

I took a shot at a cow elk one time and split a sapling just if front of her. The knock end spun around and slapped her in the side. That one hurt! (Me, not her).

I think the eye appeal is a key component here, as just about everything I’ve put on a stick like that has been received well.
