Had to start the season a little earlier to catch some chicken killers. Just a couple of pups, I'm sure more to come. A little background that might be of interest. Caught one on a bone set with super bonanza and fox pee. Caught by the back foot so was probably marking. The second on a small rebar hole under a rock with cat creek and fox pee. Polyfill under the pan. MB 550's on chained super stakes. Threw in a 3rd set tonight for any circle shy ones. We tend to have a lot of those. Caught at the end of a long waterway through a just harvested bean field. Caught on the second day. Highs have been in the low 70's with lows in the Mid 40's. Set one for a North wind and one for a South wind. Very dry here so about impossible to find any sign, therefore set logical locations. Would have been two nice looking yotes by Thanksgiving!

Nice

To a person ignorant of nature, his country stroll is a walk through a gallery filled with wonderful works of art with their faces turned to the wall

Pretty nice looking coyotes, it's a shame they had to go before they were primed up, but that's how it is sometimes. I bet the chickens will be happy.

Nice work.
Thanks for sharing the pics.
Saw a coyote on the road to work the other day. Got me all fired up. Love fall and winter.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

How do you catch a badger, make a great coyote set! A casualty of starting early on yotes.

So one week later, we have number 3. Another pup. So I had caught a coon in the remake of last week's yote. Since they make a mess, I usually just pull and make a new set outside the edge of the circle. Much faster than resetting. It was a rock set with a small amount of cat creek in a rebar hole under the rock. We had just received 1/2 inch of rain so I was happy the ole MB 550 was still working. Still looking for Ma and Pa! Never seen a dirt hole set with a hole that big!
Nice catch, wish we could keep them here.
