I remember you posting that you have, or had, a Jotul wood stove. What model? Someone local has a Jotul 500 V3 Oslo in great condition they are trying to offload for $1,000. Seems like a good deal but I'm not sure how the newer model stoves stack up to the older ones. Your thoughts?

I love mine. Been using it for 20 years now at least and never had one issue. That sounds like a heck of a price. I would look inside for sure to make certain that the tubes in the top are sound and the brick material is intact. Might need some new gasket around the doors and check for cracks in the glass. Other than that I doubt there is anything structurally wrong.
Mine is non-cat and I prefer it that way.

I think I paid about 2200-2500 for mine 20 years ago

I think you'll love the new epa compliment stoves if you burn dry wood, if you try and burn wet wood you'll hate it. I now prep wood years before needed. First year with new stove I was hating it compared to the old one, then I figured out the need for dry wood

Thanks white. This is a non-cat also, just a newer version (3). I've read some negative reviews on youtube. Just curious if they are that much worse than the older models. We shall see. I do think it is a good buy. The stove looks like its in great shape.

Donner, I have Heat and Glo Northstar in my home. It is an epa compliant stove. A bit of a learning curve but works well. And yes, they do not like wet wood. I'm discussing this now on the other wood stove thread.
