Since when couldn't you fish with 3 lines. Seems to me they shouldn't have even been checked. Other then checking for a licence.

You can . . . providing there's one hook per line. C'mon Gary . . .

I thought ohio used to be two but looks like they changed it to three a couple years ago.

Indiana is three too and you can buy a stamp that lets you have two more for five total.

3 hooks each both states.

I understand the hook per line thing.

Bunch of goofy rules, if you can keep 4 fish what difference does it make if you do it in 2 casts or 20.

Don’t know about Wisconsin but Iowa only allows 2 poles with 2 hooks each on your regular license. You can purchase an option for a 3rd pole. It shows up as an additional line on your license to let field officers know you have paid for it.

"to fish with more than three hooks, baits or lures"

so your lure can have 9 hooks on it and it is one line

but if you use 3 high low rigs you are in trouble.

we are 3 lines , I was looking this up a couple months ago when I was headed to fish with a friend in DBQ and was surprised to see yall were only 2

good thing to know , IA and WI as long as we are inside the tracks we can fish from either side on our own state license on the Miss.

gotta draw a line somewhere. grin

When fishing live bait its possible to get a fish to swallow the bait too deep to remove hook.
This happens when the fish has too much time with the bait.
Such things tend to happen more often when one is dealing with a fish on another line and the other lines get less attention.
I know you can cut the line but alot of "sportsmen" will just yank out the hook killing the fish.
I just so happens that this fish is undersized so its gotta go back.
Wasting resources.

Good bust by the wardens, I have no mercy for violators.

In Mo, you are allowed 33 hooks statewide with 50 hooks allowed on the Mississippi river. Limit of 3 hooks per pole, and over 3 poles must have name/addy, or Conservation #.
So that's up to 11 poles statewide, or 17 poles on the Mississippi and 1 can have only 2 hooks. I have spent many a night on the Miss, night fishing with a dozen or more poles out.
