Not supposed to let them fill my tag.
To bad some states recently read infact do allow party hunting. Somthing I thought was illiegal everywhere.
INDIANA AND KY both will allow him to hunt. Won't even need any licens in ku untell he is 11 or 12 and they just lengthenwd there youth seasion from the 2nd weekend in October to 9 days this year and both have a lot of good public land to hunt.
There may be other states closer to you that have youth hunting opportunities as well.
WI allows party hunting for Deer , I shot all my grandpas deer sometimes if he fell asleep from in front of him , that woke him up.
party means drives often , but it just means you are hunting together so if I can see him 100 yards down and he doesn't have a shot but I do , I can take it and he can tag it
like this year we have 5 tags each in the county we are in.
well he isn't in it he died in 2019
it started a long time ago
used to be a Party tag as well , this was when our license was buck only , 4 guys could buy their licenses in early summer and mail in with 4 tag numbers to get a Doe party tag
by 1990 you bought your license early summer and mailed in for a Doe tag where I hunted we got one almost every year if we mailed in for it , depended by management zone used to be 81 numbered with some also having a A / B or an M in total it was around 87-93 zones often split by a road you could walk across the road and be in a different management unit. they would mail them out after September it was a post card you carried and tagged the dee with.
I was looking back on the Mentored youth hunting in 2009 they made it age 10 I don't exactly recall that my kids weren't 10 in 2009 in 2017 the age was removed but not till Nov so it was more like 2018 before the first season really happened.
that's the thing in WI most hunting type legislation like mentored hunting pass about a week before season and don't really take effect till after gun season.
now it is broken up by county we have 72 so didn't make a lot less and you can buy an extra tag often.
if you hunt a county line so you have one for both sides.
one of the things assembly bill 455 in 2017 did was it made it not be one gun for the two if you any more , it was that way 2009 till 2017
for the 9 years , the mentor wasn't even supposed to be carrying a handgun for personal protection while mentoring a youth hunter.
the any age also allows a person over 18 who has not taken hunters ed to go on a mentored hunt
the rules for mentored hunt you can not use the youths tag only they can
you can not shoot for them
direct supervision means like right next to them in the same blind
at 12 with hunters ed it is within sight and sound supervision until they are 14
at 14 they can hunt alone.
