I’ve watched the videos where the guys take a 8-10” dia piece of pipe, put 220,s on each end and drop them in the creek.. any way to rig up a cage trap in the pipe that will do the same thing?

Comstock style traps. Some guys have made colony traps for beaver that would } probably work. Locklear was working on one with plexiglass clear doors.

This was the first attempt before the clear doors

Lot of work in em but great for the right spot. I have a few culverts here that are perfect for the ones I made

Guys who I know who've tried colony traps for beaver says they have very poor success with them. Apparently beaver don't like to push tbrough a door like muskrats will do.

I don't know about otter, but I can say that I've had success with my homemade beaver colony trap. I'd seen mixed opinions about whether or not they'd go in one. So, not wanting to spend much money or time on making one, I threw something together with some old fencing and stuff I had laying around. After two beavers busted out of it because it was a little too flimsy, I decided to make a big, sturdier one one out of 1x1 cage wire and some strategically placed 3/16ths metal rods for reinforcement. Put it out two nights ago and caught two beavers in it the first night and haven't been out to check it yet today.

Them boys in WA do these swim though deals that are basically triggered colonies some have springs but most will let more then one come in after the first one tripped it so you have a bit of a guarantee youll get past least one
