Guys, there’s some properties that I’ve got permission to trap,, but it’ eventually it gets chisel plowed ..coyotes do run it … but the grass that borders it is chest high in the majority of it.
Trails snake everywhere, so blind sets would be very hit or miss and snares on land or not allowed here.

How would you guys set it up?

I want to say Slim Pedersen has a video about trapping the dead furrow.

I’d put in jump sets in the furrow that boarders the grass. 12-14’ apart.

Fire up a weed trimmer and open up a spot, drop in some eye appeal like a burnt 6 inch diameter log. Been in your situation before.

Good advice. If you make an easy path to follow, coyotes and other animals will use it. Burnt wood works great, even better if you cooked over it.

John, watch out for the SURPRISE fertilizer trucks. I make it a point to talk with my farmers and they often are so busy they forget about these guys....run overs hurt!
Don't get too fancy use a few big dirt clods for a backing and make your dirt hole and flats sets. Or slip in some trail sets in the worn down area showing tracks.

Another nice thing in black chisel plowed fields is some old big white bones that they can see for quite a ways

Been hit by the fertilizer truck too many times! A wheel always seems to find my traps!
