Started helping on local dairy farms and cattle ranches from about ten or so. Did that through high school along with some other odd jobs. After high school , figured I should probably do something that would build a resume, so I joined the USAF in hopes of being a firefighter; I'd been on our volunteer department and really enjoyed that. But naw, they made me a missile cop. They offered me a transfer to the Air Guard after a few years , so I took them up on it. I the USAF almost eight years total, before going to the Navy Reserve as a cop. During that time , I was hired by the federal prison system and gave them 22 years.

Full on retired. Done.

Farm work, fast food grill extraordinaire, carpet layer, and a Youth Conservation corps worker before starting college. Played football, did track and FFA. Trapped, hunted and fished whenever possible.
Threw discus and shotput in college. Graduated with wildlife and criminal justice degrees. Trapped, hunted and fished as much as possible.
Worked as a Conservation Agent (Game Warden) for the Missouri Department of Conservation for 32 years. Retired in 2018. Trapped, hunted and fished as much as possible
Coached high school discus, shotput and javelin throwers for 30 years. Had an equal number of athletes medal at the state meet.
Managed 1500 acres of hunting property for about four years. CRP management, planted and managed 40 acres of food plots, TSI, upkeep on 20 deer blinds, upkeep on multiple ATV's and side by sides, upkeep on the farm's equipment and upkeep on the hunting lodge and cabin and associated groundskeeping and maintenance as needed.
Finally, was able to trap as much as much as I wanted and polished off my lifetime list of harvesting all 33 species of furbearers in North America. Since there is no legal trapping in Mexico, all were harvested in the good old USA. with nothing in Canada that I couldn't find at home.
Here's my list. I also get one specimen full body mounted too. Wolverine, fisher, marten, mink, all three weasels, otter, badger, bobcat, lynx, mountain lion, black bear, possum, raccoon, ringtail, coati, muskrat, red squirrel, beaver, nutria, both spotted skunks, hooded, skunk, striped skunk, hog nosed skunk, arctic fox, swift fox, kit fox, red fox, grey fox, coyote and wolf.
In three weeks, I'm going to set some traps at the first place that I trapped 50 years prior. Sort of a full circle thing. The better half and I are headed to Alaska to see our grandson's a few weeks after that. Both our daughters moved to Alaska after college, They live only 40 miles from each other. A blessing and a curse at the same time.
I'm going to be 62 in another 4 days. What to do next is my next big question to answer.
There will be a test later for those that haven't fallen asleep. Jim

I've been running or working at the family resort my whole life. Have supplemented my income sometimes out of necessity by trapping, wild rice harvesting, fishhouse rentals and cleaned fish for resort customers for 60 years. Became very good at northern pike ybone removal. Still working at 74 years old.

Retired after 55 years as an insurance agent. Daughter took over the agency. I bring all the girls coffee every Thursday.

Been running a food shelf for 28 years now. Lots of great people who volunteer to help with that. Couldn't do it all this time without them.

Some of us 25+ year guys were sitting around talking about how technology has changed in our world over the last 25 years. Also how one company we might have cussed back in the day is one company we wished we had back, lol.

Pasture manager for the largest grazing dairy in the northeast (to my knowledge). My job includes grassland management, fixing fences, managing the grazing herds, feeding animals and anything else that needs doing.

As a aside I have my own small operation which is predominantly breeding show pigs as well as producing feeder pigs, freezer pork and also includes a small beef herd.

Would that Gardeau Crest ? If so , it's quite the operation.
