Be interesting to see how many folks follow suit in the 10th circuits, and how many others in other circuits test the waters. Who’s gonna be the first corner crossing trapper?! wink. Happy trapping! ScottW

Yep.

The Supreme Court will almost certainly not review corner crossing unless district courts come up with different rulings. If another case in a different district goes to federal court and they rule corner crossing legal it'll likely be the end if it. If they rule it illegal then things may get dicey

Theres still public land that is surrounded by private land that isnt accessible by corner crossing.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

If they can't find/buy easements that's the land that should be sold.

Montana is a land locked state. Thousand and thousands of public land lock and kept from the use of peoples land of the USA. Land locked so people who own land around that land are the only people that can use it. And most of this land there is money made from outfitting. In this state it will never change to much money involved. These big land holding companies and private places don't let anyone hunt from outside their inner circle and get the rights to so much public lands others can't use. Land locked land here is from the eastern to western part of the state not just western part.
Montana is very very greedy political and don't want out of state people here. But still their biggest revenue comes from out of state people. Montana talks out both sides of their mouth.

Folks have been using a helo for year to access some landlocked parcels.
Guys talked about doing it this year and Randy Newburg has done it as well.
It ain't cheap.

Yeah I know but you need to be rich and famous. Not just a simple thing when a person wants to go in for a day. The whole land locked thing is a bad deal for the outdoorsman.

snowy yes there are million of acres of landlocked public lands, thank our gov't for that not the LOs, but we still have million more open to hunt and recreate.
There is so much public land a person couldn't possibly explore it all.
Sometimes we should just be thankful for what we have, not what we want.
This is a great ruling, just sad you don't get to enjoy the benefits in MT.

Can your land lock private ground in Montana and deny access??? For me the public owns public ground and if you cant keep the owners out their private ground you shouldn't be allowed to keep the owners of public ground out.

Interesting argument. I believe in some places landlocked private can’t be denied access but the access road etc has to go right on the property line getting into it and the person wanting access pays for the build. But I’m not an expert on this by any means!

Wytex, you are correct and also make a good point. We are very lucky as things are.

There is a teeny tiny little piece of me that doesn’t mind
The way “it has been” to this point. Next thing you know folks will be building structures to corner cross with motor vehicles. Where does it stop? Happy trapping! ScottW

from August 1 to January 31. The law prohibits using aircraft for spotting, locating, or providing any other aid to a hunter. In Wyoming. It's also prohibited in Utah.

Good thing that’s not the rules in Alaska! lol. Is dropping off and picking someone up considered “aid”? Happy trapping! ScottW

I doubt simple transportation is considered aid.
So no one can take an airplane to WY to hunt?
