That’s my boy!

Took us an hour to find the blood trail in the wide open field. Of course he ran into the woods and down into a ravine. This is the first time I’ve laid eyes on a buck up close and could really appreciate how big of an animal they are.

Nice going Chuckie

Now the cutting up begins.

Lots of nice meals there
Did he jump out of the tree and ride him there? I see in the pics he's still straddling it laugh

This one is going for processing. If it was a younger deer we always do ourselves.

Also I wouldn’t put it past him to ride the deer into the next county! Lol his leg was behind the deer but he got a cramp and had to lay his leg over it!

I have done my own does and separated the muscle groups into roasts and such. But I don’t have a grinder except an old avocado green countertop crank model!
Thought about learning how to make bologna and sausage!
Maybe some day.

congratulations to Chucky. Best money is have ever spent on processing equipment was A cheap 575 watt lem #8 grinder. went years without a grinder. Then borrowed my in-laws several years and bought this cheap one about 15 to 20 years ago around $100. Its held up well. We run about 7 to 15 deer through it each year along with pork when the wife makes sausage. I have been hoping it would die so I can justify buying a larger one for when we are running multiple deer at a time or for when we decide to do cows. But it just won't die so far. Currently $122 @ amazon I picked mine up probably at rual king back then. here is a Walmart link. You can get by without one but once you have one you won't be without even s cheap one like this again. Less than one trip to the processor and years of use.

Yep cutting them up don't take long. We have cut our own up since I was a kid and now passing it on to my kids. With them and my wife I would say 1\2 HR to 45 minutes.
