My wife received the flu shot 2 weeks ago. 5 days later she could not walk. Diagnosed with Gillian Barre Syndrome, caused by the flu shot, left untreated it is fatal. She spent 7 days in the hospital and received 5 intravenous treatments. She is home now, can walk with a walker and is improving every day, but needs physical therapy for a while.
Was told by nureologist that it is very rare, but he is full of it. We have found out there are at least 4 other people in our rural area who have had this syndrome. It is actually more common than they try to make out, but the health care industry does not want to scare people off from getting the jab.
We both have gotten the flu shot in the past, but never again after seeing what it put my wife and family through.

Sorry to hear she feels so yucky! Last vaccination I had was rabies series for a bad dog bite and it put me down for days. At one point my husband couldn’t wake me up and he was about to call an ambulance. And that’s a killed vaccine not modified live.

The one vaccine that has never worked. It was developed to keep seniors from succumbing to the flu, yet death numbers are steady or rising since its development. Yet, folks rush out every year to get it, lol.

And the medical professionals try to push the shot on you.

To each his own. I'm not going to pass judgement on any for getting vaxed for the flu. That's your business.
I'm not going to chance it. It's like shooting in the dark.
I choose not to get vaxed for the flu because I have never in my life been able to pinpoint being sick to having the flu. About the only time I get sick is a sinus infection in May/June of every year.
I am 1000% against any part of the covid vax hoax.
I do hope that your wife gets well soon and makes a full recovery

Feelings about the vaccine aside, have you guys seen the commercial for the flu vaccine? We like the wolf in sheeps clothing in it. “Who, me? But I’m just the flu “

I believe it's totally a personal decision and would not encourage or discourage anyone from getting or not getting vaccines. Most of my friends and family are getting up in the age these days. Some of them refuse to get any vaccines, while others get all or some of them. Far be it for me to urge someone to get vaccinated and then have them experience negative effects like Squash's wife. Likewise, I would hate to discourage someone from getting vaccinated only to have a serious strain of the flu end up killing them! It's a decision only they can make based on what they feel is the best choice for them.
That said, Squash posting his wife's experience is a good thing, as it can allow people to make more informed decisions.

My daughter in law also contracted Gillian Barre Syndrome after getting a flu shot. She was in intensive care for a month. She has recovered for the most part, but still has neuropathy in her feet. The drug company paid her $175,000.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

I used to get one every year but since the Covid Plandemic, I absolutely do not trust what might be in those shots. We never got the Covid vaccine and never will and I’ll never get another flu shot.

I'm sorry your wife had to go through that... I still have never gotten a flu shot, and will never get a covid jab....have nothing against the old vaccines most of us had though...
Drug store asks every time I get meds if I want a flu shot, I decline and they never say a word.....If the Flu ends up killing me, it is what it is...no one gets out of here alive anyway...

I ran the numbers on efficacy of the flu shots a few years ago. I want to say it was from 04-05 to 17-18 I think. It was direct information from the CDC website.
I added all the numbers together and divided that number by the number of seasons. I came up with a 38% efficacy rate.
If it is only 38% effective I will pass. If you can't even give me flip of a coin, I am not taking it.
After hearing what GBS does to people and watching my neighbor go through it, now I know I will not get the flu shot. GBS is no joke.
How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

Trump got a Covid booster and flu shot this fall. If it’s so risky, why did his medical team recommend both of them? I got both also.
Dose Trump determine every aspect of your life? .
Do what you think is right for you. Do the research base the design on actual info not what som else says or does.
My .02 it hot a low chance of being effective, it has more risk than let on. Easy to find info on both. The flu is a few days of feeling bad and u done get sick but maybe once a decade so for me it offers mor risk than reward.
Maybe you are in a different situation. Immune compromised, scared of geting sick have a need to fit in or be told wahr to do becuse someone else knows best who knows . Decide for yourself.
And you only Know that its reported Teup did x y z. You have no clue if its accurate.

From some clinical studies from my younger years in pre med it was in the mid to late 70's. I was taught 27 > 32 % was the efficacy for flu vaccines at that time. Also was stated that the data is typically massaged by Pharma so those numbers can be factored in as being less efficacy than the reported data results.
Too bad Mark June isn't still contributing as he worked for Pfizer a number of years. He could verify what I was taught. However he may be under a contract provision disallowing him to report such sensitive data detrimental to his career at that time.

It varies significantly by age. If you are under 50, like I am, only 1.9 people out of 100k died from the flu last year. If you are over 65, that number increases to 32.1 per 100k, which still seems a rather small number, but much higher than for those that are younger. Source.
