So last week I posted about my water leak and outdoor wood burner temp control unit needing replaced.

Well yesterday morning on my way home the water company called and said they were going to replace my meter setting so I won't have to connect back into junk old pvc meeter base. If I had to pay for the replacement it would be $2,500 but they are going to do it being its one of the oldest on the system.

I finally got parts for the outdoor unit. New temp control unit a switch for the light on the front that had gone out and an extra blower to keep on hand so I can get it fixed fast if I have another failure.

I replaced the switch for the light first. Turned the powered back on to check it and the unit came on as well. Im guessing something in that switch completed a circuit to temp unit. OR Moving and prying it all around geting it out of the tight spot may have done something. Either way its working without me replacing the aquastat. So now I have an extra one of those on hand as well.

I like having repayment parts. When I had the unit put in i had them sell me an extra water pump and blower. that was 2017. in 2022 the blower went out in winter on a Sunday night. Since we had an extra here it was fixed in 30min or so.

Sometimes things just seem to work out.

nothing is fixed till it survives a shake down run

this didn't make the shake down run so still part of the original planned repair

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Its fixed now. House is warm, domestic hot water is back to 160°+ out of the tap. Some day I may put in a mixing valve. But it sure is nice to have it thet hot for baked on crude on dishes. It Doesn't take long to rember where your preferred setting is at the sinks and shower. Time to turn the breaker off to the water heater for the winter.
