Really took my time and was careful and managed to get both skinned quicker than it took me last year. I’m really happy with my new gambrel. Forgot to take a picture but it’s like a square and a series of V’s that you just slide the feet into.

Nice work.

I've looked at those gambrels also, they look convenient.

I have the one with the hooks but it’s hard to raise a heavy coon and try to stab it through the legs. Alternatively it’s hard to attach the coon and then raise it all up and hook the gambrel on the ceiling. This was a major help

Don't worry, you will have more opportunities to hole them when you flesh.

If you don't have a machine you could use a pulley and rope to hang your gambrel so you can lower it down to hook the coons on and pull it up. Put a loop in the end of the rope so it'll hang at the height you want and attach a cleat to hook the loop on. The first 1000 are the toughest, they'll start to get easier after that. laugh

I made a gambrel using 2 lengths of choke collar to attach the legs,,,raise and lower it with a small block with a cleat to adjust the height...infinite adjustment, lol...

Don’t you love it when you skin with no holes and then at the very end turn it into a big-eye tuna. lol
