When I was in Alaska, and we had the cold spell in January 1989, I decided to try my hand at quilting. It was something to occupy myself during the cold when it wasn't pleasant to be outside. Once I got started, I couldn't seem to quit. I gave most of the quilts away, but here are a few that we still have.

This is a log cabin that won third place in the fair at Fairbanks in 1989. It's pretty well worn and faded, because we used it a lot.


This is a spools quilt that's also very well worn. I need to take the ragged border off and redo it.


This is an amish pinwheel that I didn't finish. The top is all that's done.

I bake, cook, make jams and jellies, can, can sew, patch my own jeans, change diapers LOL, make quiche LMBO and other assorted things like that

Nice work!...I know of a few men that knit and crochet....my wife offered to teach me but I declined, lol

However I do most of the housework here, Miss Daisy isn't up to most of it anymore...just finished washing the floors, if that counts....

I enjoy some culinary arts in the kitchen....maybe I should turn mine in too.

I like to cook and bake bread and pies.

Dang nice quilts Mr Paul!!! I can sew, cook and can as well, I've been known to do the laundry as well.
And iffin you want my man card..... you gotta fight my wife for it....

Tried my hand at crochet, my attention span ain't long enough to finish one though. I do love to cook though, just put supper on the stove. Mama saw to it that her three boys knew how to do basic sewing and ironing and feed ourselves. Guess she figured we wouldn't find wives.

The sewing came in handy in the service as the post sew shop was crap at getting uniform alterations right.

I used to crochet. My grandmother taught me when I was young. I'm left handed and she was the only one who had the patience to teach me.

I'm not allowed to do laundry anymore. You turn a couple things pink and suddenly you're banned from even looking at the washing machine. If the wife needs something ironed I'm her go to.

Have you been a Gillette razor guy all this time and never said anything? LOL Being a bachelor for my first 40 years before rushing into marriage I enjoyed cooking a lot I like simple foods with natural flavors. Not a spice guy just a basic meat, potatoes and vegetables but quality stuff not just anything on my plate. Simple things are my favorite meals like burger and potatoes, beans and weenies, chicken and wedges simple stuff just the way I like it.

Not big on many cheese choices mozzarella goes on anything that gets cheese or I go without cheese. Cheese sauce is good but I could take it or leave it like cheesy peas or green beans.

Do whatever needs done cook, laundry , groceries etc

Our family falls naturally into gender rolls.

sewing is a basic skill everyone should know how to do. I have never had any issues changing diapers, cooking, washing dishes or any other typically female domestic chores. I can and enjoy helping my wife out. she helps me when I need a hand or often just to spend time together while geting life accomplished.

Can't say I have anything I do on my own that falls in that category, other than enjoying cooking and food preservation. Would possibly change if I had more time.

couple times a year I will bake a pumpkin or apple pie. sometimes I will surprise my wife by doing dishes for her.

I do enjoy sweeping the floors, feels like i'm cleaning up at a jobsite which I also enjoy.

Other thing I like to do is organize, everything in it's place and a place for everything. pretty much gave up on it when I got hitched and had to share a living space. throw kids in the mix and My shop is my safe space lol

I do all the cooking, laundry and some cleaning. Have to admit I'm not the worlds best on cleaning the house. Can and smoke/preserve meats veggies and sweets. Can do rudimentary sewing repairs.
