Got home from military refuge youth hunt orientation and packing up for the hunt tomorrow. when the youngest holding his breath say o dang I stabe my leg. .

it doesn't make since to me not computing at all how what? but a nice hole and a lot of blood is in and comeing out of his leg.

Turns out my daughter left her Kershaw leak in her pants and they went through the wash and at some point the spring assist knife opened. it was in a pile of longer on a chair he was sorting to be put up. He decided to sit on the chair and found the knife tsht was covered up by a shirt with his leg. Looks like should get a habd full of stitches. My main work was when he removed the pressure wrap my daughter had put on it right away he said it sprayed out about 6 inches. I thought o crap an artery. You can't believe how solw it seems people are driving on trick or treat day. .

Bleeding has stoped Not geting stitches geting staples.

the np was cool. When she said staples i told her stitches were easier to take out . She countered with staples are easier to put in. Then gave me the staples gun with remaining staples and one of the tools to take them out with.

Said they come in handy to have around especially for animals.

He is still planing on going. Just said when I asked him if he would want to go still he replied. Yes do you think that cut is going to stop me from hunting.

Did he only cut his skin, or did the cut go deeper?

Said it sprayed blood out about about 6 inches ...once the pressure was relieved..

Just have to make sure he's up on his teatnus (sp) shot

And it don't get infected

If ya stuck to those natural gender roles you mentioned in a previous post instead of making your son do his sister's laundry this wouldn't have happened. grin

Just messin' with ya, hope the boy feels better and shoots something tomorrow.

PF you are doing something right if your daughter is packing her own Kershaw. That alone should make you smile a bit....This story just reminds me of how blessed we are to have a good family and doing things correctly in life. I pray for complete healing in Jesus name and a good harvest this morning.

keith going by how wide the cut in his jeans was and how wide the blade at that point it went in between 1 1/4 mimic to 1 3/4 to 2" the leak has a very pointy tapered blade. the variance is the possibility it may have had an angle making the cut a bit wider but I dont think so . Honest opinion is at least inch and a half.

He was really hobbling this morning and pants bothered his leg so he did bail out on us. So it is just myn15 year old and inwaiting for it to get a little more gray before heading into this wood we have been in once 3 years ago. Picked the same area so we knew just a little about it.

Can only shoot one this year here since ehd hit hard and driving around the 400 acre section in the dark onleybsa w few very lightly used runs. Expectations are not high. . 3 years ago he did shoot one doe and I saw a heck of a buck here. Have a creek size river with anothencreek flowing into it and a ridge covers with feeders and a oak flat on the other side. the ridge was covered with 6" dimator rubs 3 years ago.

Yotetrapper30 The wife got up before us was up at 4 am and had breakfast on the table. Almost have her trained after 29 years . wink

On the ridge no fresh sign. sitting on the ground back against the same tree with him facing the other direction he shot one 3 years ago. Im not expecting much if anything but its pretty rut and anything can happen. But a fawn with spots is not safe on this one deer one day draw hunt.

I was going to post a picture of his leg but remember some folks got sensitive about the sight of human damage on the Kirk post so not sure about it.
