How many y'all get?

We haven't had any in the 40 plus years we've lived here, not enough houses to warrant the walk, lol
Though now, mom's drive the kids house to house in areas where there's still some kids....seems like the tradition is fading away...

I way overbought candy this year. Went all out with full-size bars, had a friend pick me up five 30-packs at Sam's Club plus I got an 18-pack of Skittles and Starburst for the non-chocolate lovers. I set up my new ice shack by the end of the driveway and fired up my diesel heater to stay warm. By how much candy I have left over, I bet I had less than 50 kids stop by.

Anybody want some candy? grin

We had 110…..

Mostly young ones for a change. What strikes me the most is how well behaved they all were. Walking up the driveway and please and thank you.

When I was a kid trick or treating was a full contact sport. Cutting through yards and over and through hedges…….

It does seem to be a fading tradition. Only saw a handful of kids in the neighborhood where we went. When I was a kid, we took it serious! We designed our costume around the ability to ride a bike so we could cover more ground. We used pillow cases for bags. We’d drop off our haul half way thru the night to lighten the load and head back out for round two. People always handed out more candy when you had an empty bag. Anyplace that was handing out full size candy got hit up at least twice.

After 30 years of ZERO, ( our driveway is 1/4 mile long, dark, and muddy) we got our first group of 3 last year.
This year, had a group of 5 show up, then the three from.last year.

Getting out of control, lol

Took the daughter into town so she could trick or treat with her friends. Wife and I dropped her off and then had supper at the bar/restaurant with a bunch of other parents that were doing the same thing. (Middle school kids so old enough to roam around town on their own). Everybody had fun so a win-win.

We moved here in 2012 and have had zero trick or treaters in the 13 Halloweens we have spent here. It's to far to the neighbors for kids to find it worthwhile to walk. There's only 16 houses in 3 1/2 miles on our street.

Took our kids to the trunk or treat in town. Seems that most small towns around have something like this these days.

Never heard of a trunk and treat....seems like here, kids get packed up and brought to the village to hustle candy from the local merchants...a version of trunk and treat?

My son made out like a bandit at the big houses who give out the full size candy bars

To a person ignorant of nature, his country stroll is a walk through a gallery filled with wonderful works of art with their faces turned to the wall
