My thoughts -
Yes the kids look thin , but if you look closer , thin but some muscle is starting to be forming there.
Very few fat kids back then , unlike today. Plenty of chores to be done , no TV screens or electronic junk to sit in front of on your butt. Much more active times for people. Women were much stronger back then too. We have gotten so used to fatter kids and people that those in the picture look thin by today's standards.

Yes , the bicycle looks a bit pricy for the time.

The kid on the bike has the wrong pant leg cuff rolled up. I think most of us would know that from experience.

The little girl is so hungry she's chewing off the end of her thumb.
