Does anybody have any hacks on how to straighten up a twisted catch pole cable. The “d-ray” and the knock off one I have both have issues with not being a nice open loop after literally one catch. I’ve tried tightening it over a cylindrical object overnight to regain the memory but no luck. I worry that heating the cable might just weaken it.

The best way for me was to learn how to use it correctly. After maybe the third replacement cable, I started paying more attention to the placement of the pole before I put the squeeze on.
The end of the pole should be at the back of the head/neck. Replacements are easy enough to change out but rarely needed when used properly.

I prefer the thicker cable on my d-ray. first off make sure you aren't over tightning when in use as I had a habit of that and it tends to kink worse. after a few uses of my d-ray if the cable is all jacked up just open up the quick link on the end of pole and straighten out the cable by hand.
