I realize that some things can't be improved of and if it ain't broke don't fix it but wondering if those that use the pipe dream set with the PVC have ever added a 90 degree elbow at the top to keep the moisture out? Also wondering about adding a T connector for same reason but get better air flow through the T?

Mr Jingles those caps should work great but might get damaged when you hammer them in hard ground or frozen late season
but a good oil based paste bait should be all you need to hold up in wet weather without being washed out for canines
but your idea might shine when water trapping coon and mink when you would be able to easily secure them in the mud banks
great idea sir

Yo Jingles I live and die by this set. I’ve used every available combination of pipe. Straight,t connectors, and elbows.Hidden annd exposed.Every single one works for me. I don’t have frozen ground. Use accordingly and you’ll be fine. You need to experiment to gauge the difference in your area.

You're basically describing the portable pocket. I made a bunch of the PVC pipes with elbows years ago for water trapping.

Now I use the portable pockets made of smooth rod and pipe so I can stake with them. I do make some short versions when I don't want to stake to them.

Your right Sniper those portable pockets work great also. I can’t have exposed bait so I just stuff it in the pocket with the attached trap and off I go!
