I learned how to do everything for myself. Figured I wasn't good looking enough for a fine woman like her, but she surprised me. If she gets too mad, I'll survive until she simmers down.

I know your struggle. several years ago my wife and daughter went out of town for something I dont remember what . So the boys and I stayed home. While talking about whr twe were going to do over the weekend one of the boys all of a sudden got a very concerned look on his face and said " what are we going to do about food" I had to figure out what he ment and asked. Basically who is going to feed us. When I told him I was going to cook the confused look on their faces was priceless. The reply was a very surprised Question with you can cook? The doubt in their face when I replied of course I can cook, just becues I dont and your mom does dose not mean I can't or dont know how.

So I flat threw down cooking that weekend to prove the point. Wife's reaction was not positive when the boys telling her about their weekend went on about how good Dads cooking was. They told me they liked it beter than moms. I told them make sure not to say that to or in front of their mom it would hurt her feelings. But even though they didnt say it directly she got the hint.

I had to tell her later its not that my cooking is better its just different And not what they are used to. Its the novelty if geting different things. That is what it took to finally make her feel better.

I would blame it on the alcohol and not cook any more cookies while she was in town wink

Or make another batch and leave something out/put too much in and never bake again laugh

I can cook just fine, never tried my hand at baking that I can recall

My wife is NOT a great cook...of anything,... and readily admits it, lol

My wife learned to bake from me, now I don’t have to. I still do the grilling, roasting, and smoking.

I learned how to cook when I was very young.in the summer months I stayed at the farm that my grandfather owned and my uncle and his wife ran it was only a mile down the road from my house.my aunt was not a very good cook but was a hard working farm girl.so after trying to eating her meals for awhile I started learning to cook on my own.i cook 90%of the time plus grilling and smoking.i dabble in baking a bit cookies and apple pie is about the extent of my skills in that dept.my wife will admit it can make most things better then her but I've often wondered if its because she doesn't want to cook. grin
