Finally got to set traps last night. Caught this kitty, and saw another one walking through the front gate at dawn, but no double. Good luck to you all, please stay safe.

We are close to the Taos Pueblo and have a lot of Zuni friends.

With about a million prairie dogs out here, found a hole they had dug under a fallen tree. Bait, lure in the hole, feathers in next. Trap down the hill below, along a game trail. Surprisingly, the cat went uphill to check out the hole, got a nice rear foot catch. Took the drag about 50 yards and wrapped up in a pine tree. Our ground seems to be too hard packed for drags, so I pre-hooked the other sets.

How/where are you able to use foothold in NM?

Trapping season is open for footholds and snares. Max. outside spread is 6.5" or 7" if laminated. Over 5.5" have to be offset. Body grips on land are limited to under 6" unless in a cubby.

Oh, yeah, no trapping public land. Which really, really sucks since my work/home (I live on site) has a 1.25 mile border with a National Forest.
