Was going to throw some 330's over a few culverts in this area to try and hit some otters, but with the freeze quickly setting in I'm wondering if it's too shallow? Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

If other spots are freezing and this stays open I would set it.

I quit putting otter traps in water during freeze up. Amazing how much ice forms overnight at 10 below. Be even worse if you had an otter in that ice. :

That's what I'm worried about. I'll stick to deeper spots maybe. Wish the season lasted longer than March since half the time it's still frozen. Did most of my beaver trapping in the spring cause of the ice as well, just awful to break through a couple feet of ice. It's either that or it's too thin to even walk on but is way harder to walk through than plain water.

In the right spots, you can catch them on top of the ice.

Aren't you in Cordova? Is it really that cold?

Not usually but we get cold snaps sometimes. Last year we had a lot of ice quickly when it finally set up.
