The Vortex Crossfire line is made in China. I don't have any experience with them but wouldn't take one for free. The Vortex high end line is made in Japan and the intermediate lines are made in the Philippines. I have a couple of Vipers and Diamondback HPs (all made in the Philippines) and have been happy with them. The glass is decent. The reticles are on the fine side which is great at the range and in good light but something a little thicker would be better in low light. Some great deals can be found on Vortex scopes at times.
If I was going to buy another scope it would be a Trijicon. I have a Huron on one of my rifles and like it a lot plus they have a reputation for durability.
I know some are made over seas, but I have watched them make scopes in Barneveld , Wi.
the army contract ones and the Razor line happen in WI basically if the scope is >3K it is US
I was talking with Joe a few weeks ago , the tariffs are going to change up where things are made and expect the 2026 prices to adjust , they are working out the how much.
the cross fires work for Wisconsin deer hunting on a budget and the crew at vortex takes care of customers I have used the warrantee
yes stuff is made in china sometimes , the scope on his gun now is made in china and broke.
if you are making a living with your rifle , or your life depends on it spend the few K on a scope
if your a kid on a budget with a week to deer season replacing a weaver combo gun scope that is broken a cross fire will have you ready for opening morning.
if you can afford more get more.
