Ever scenario is different. Alot has to do with how much you shoot, how big a gun its on and what are your expectations of the scope are. A $200 and down scope works for a lot of people's scenario. If Im going on a hunt of a lifetime spending a little extra on a higher quality scope doesn't seem to unreasonable compared to the other costs involved. Ive got scopes from a $100 up into the thousands, they all work for the situations I use them in. There is a difference between them and as rule you get what u pay for.
I absolutely agree when you are paying for a hunt of a lifetime , build a custom gun put excellent glass on it
what CoyoteCowboy is running is a 243 freezer filler , wouldn't be the level of half these guys truck guns.
WI deer hunting is a little different , reminds me of a time passed in most places where , blue jeans , work boots and a stained up orange hooded sweatshirt that looks like it might have just been dug out of the trunk of your beater with a heater from where you stored it last year still wearing a bit of the blood on the sleeve.
is still normal enough.
get off work on Friday from your factory or construction job at 2pm and drive to camp where Pap and Gramps have the cabin opened up and the wood stove going.
your rocking the same rifle you got at 12 a 243
and your supplies for the holiday weekend are tree turdy racks , tree pounds bacon , and a new orange hat from the fleet farm on your way to camp that you will wear for the next 364 days till you get another one. and a bottle of Korbel and some 50/50.
