My son decide that seen as his blind worked so well for me during turkey season. That I needed to use it for up coming deer season. He has one of the big 360 view blinds I could fit my atv in if wanted. It is pretty sweet deal for me now that I have issues swinging gun. Move around to much to get in position. Thing is the pins that come with blind leave little bit to be desired. I have made my own tent pins now for years. Use the big nails used for pinning land scape timber. My son said dad you need to dig out those pins so don't have fight those cheap deals. Well all my pins are in with tents or awning. So last time was at Menards grabbed couple dozen nail. In the past I used cut chain link or bent rod to make a hook on pins. I was going to get my bender out of my trap part box. When I realized I already had can full of heavy j-hooks. Being I like to try to use what I already have. The j-hooks were easy choice. Set the welder up this morning and only took few minutes burn couple dozen heavy duty tent pins.
Look like this and can easily go in frozen or hard rocky ground.

Neat! I did much the same, but I asked at the cheapo depot for all the 1/2 link chain pieces from cutting chain to length. Love free stuff.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

I'm not much of a welder so I just heat them and bend the top inch or so over.

12" spike and a 1 1/4" washer works pretty good to.
