Need some advise. A farmer had a bad nuisance problem with ground squirrels. I have no experience dealing with them. What kind of traps should I run? And how to spot sign other than obvious holes

You talking about the 13 lined ground squirrels? I've caught a few in regular rat snap traps baited with sunflower seeds and peanut butter. Shooting them is easier for me though so usually I pop em with .17 HMR

Number 1 or 0 longsprings set at their holes. Stake/tie that trap down, the hawks will get them soon after you catch them if you aren't right there.

Ihad several in my yard as the neighbors have a large field they mow with a lawn mower and there are many living out there. I have caught them all in regular rat traps, using peanut butter. I set near the holes or right on the paths. I drilled a small hole in the wood and wired the trap to a stake as almost all animals that walk or fly will try to carry them off. Especially with a squirrel in them.
