Hey all..... almost a year ago I had lower back surgery Lower vertebrae had fused together while slipped forward. Surgeon had to break and chip and grind and then put pack in place and added rods and screws ands a cage or two... making sure nerves had plenty room. I did ok for a few months but the last 2 months my balance is getting worse....no pain really... just loosing leg strength and balance. Had an MRI and x rays of lower spine, middle spine and neck. My bones are growing and fusing and putting pressure on the nerves just above the fused spot. So my Dr said more surgery to open up the nerve tunnels and extend the fusion 1 vertebrae higher with new rods. All that was done last Dec 16 is solid and the screws and rods have not failed. My spine is almost fused solid in an area of my chest so he said I will be losing quite a bit of mobility in my back. I know several in here mentioned they have had surgery.... for those who had more than 1 surgery how did that work out. I know back surgery can be not so good results..... I am 69 almost and still active and working full time but retirement could be soon. Slower than I have been most my life but still keep going. Thanks for any comments !!

Have had 3 surgeries on my back. The first two gave me some relief for a period of about two years. Then the pains started and were worse than ever. They went back in at MY insistence and removed wire, screws and other hardware. This was 5 years ago. I've been better since. The surgeries were all successful but all that hardware they leave in you sometimes needs to come out at a later date This and having most of my foot reattached in another surgery ended my full time working days. I wish and pray for your continued healing. I'm just a few years younger than you. Take care and God bless

Guess I am in the same boat Raghorn. Trying to get some more MRIs and then into see the surgeon. I was told I would need to get my C4,C5, and maybe C6 fused sooner than later but woke up a week ago with my left hand completely numb and terrible pain in my shoulder and forearm. I am 45 and haven't had much for surgeries. Definitely worried and not looking forward to what the docs tell me . Good luck with your surgeries and will be praying for you all.

Fixed mine from falling from my treestand a few weeks ago the pinched nerve pain is gone the usual moves to adjust it (pop) don’t work like before have not been this pain free in many years. I don’t recommend it but I was lucky it could have been bad in so many ways.
Good luck to you all I know what you’re going through and it sucks.

I broke my back falling trying to Land a salmon 4 weeks ago today. Pain has been unbearable. In full back brace. T6 vertebrate. I did not see xray yet but I think it’s the outside 1/3 on the right side. Big gap. I fell hard. Knocked my self out when I slipped on a big rock. My own fault. knew I should not have been down there with 3 knee replacements on 2 legs. Therapy 2x a week but they have not touched my back. all leg and arm muscle exercises to keep my muscle tone. They said it will heal as good as it will ever heal by January 1. Dr said well know then if I cannot stand any future pain if not will have to talk surgery. Heck of away to start my retirement this year at age 66. MD
