Put out my doe intestines and a dead chicken with a game cam on it we have a red fox and bobcat on our other cams and yotes and grey fox in the past on cams. Buddy is not a trapper but wants to see what on his place anyway it might motivate him but I doubt it.

Went back to that spot a hawk few off of the pile (he’s been missing the squirrels) then a short time later the buzzards showed up so the pile won’t be there long it looks like.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Not a gut pile, but the yotes are killing the apples here at the house. I need to get to work on them.

I have done a carcass cam (sometimes deer carcass and guts, sometimes whole hogs) and get a variety of critters and birds.

Hawks, turkey and black headed buzzards, occasional bald eagle and lately caracaras.

Had a few daylight pics of coyotes running the buzzards off

I have a trail cam on a gut pile also and got quite the surprise the other day. Two racoons eating on the gut pile while a deer watches. [Linked Image]

Pine SHop I have had pictures of deer standing in the midst of a fresh pile of guts or carcass.

Not sure they ate any of it but they were definitely interested in them

They can clean a big critter up in short order.

Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime

Friend has told me he's gone back to gut piles and deer have ripped the stomachs open and eaten the contents. Michigan in the snow.

University of Tennessee at Knoxville has a human body farm where they put corpses to study the stages of decay, they have a picture of a deer eating on one of the bodies
