Does anybody carry a little black book anymore. How many phone numbers do you remember now vs 30 years ago?

I haven't needed my black book for 43 yrs

I forgot about those then.I have to dig one out

I can remember phone numbers from when I was a kid in the 70s,

See one every now and then.

Used to be a few around here for the Amish, but they got yanked a few years back.
Still hitching posts at many stores

There is one on my drive to dialysis on hwy 89 that goes through National Forest
This is at Neihart general store now a very small town that used to be a silver mining town

I used to install and maintain pay phones for GTE, the best repair call was on a rainy Friday early evening at Showgirls in Fort Wayne. The place was packed and the payphone was in the womens dressing room. There were about 10 women lined up at a long counter putting make-up on and primping for their turn on stage. They were not wearing much and were not a bit shy. Someone had gotten mad and jerked the handset out of the phone. It was hard to focus on the repair when my head kept turning towards the make-up mirror. They said for 5 bucks they would break it again so I could come back and see them again. It was a fun day to be a phone man! Sure beat being on a pole freezing in a blizzard!

I remember about all of them from 30 years ago , I remember about zero of them from now but if I need to call my brother , mom , dad , grandma and grandpas number my house from 25 years ago , those are all in my head yet.

problem is about 3 of those numbers are actually in use any more

Try laying on the floor hooking up a bargun while they are standing above you trying to work around you.

We still have one at a GetGo gas station which is odd because it’s a fairly newer gas station?

I can too, but I don't even know Diane's phone number or most of my newer friends' numbers. Often somebody puts their number in my phone, under their name and I've never seen their number, even after many years of knowing them.

I used to keep a hard copy of phone numbers in case the cell went out, but what was I going to call them on?, lol
I don't bother now....just have to go through the list periodically to delete the guys that died....

Rare sight around now! I remember the one in the very small town I was raised in.

I remember getting home late from a ballgame and trying to find change to call for a ride home

I remember having to use a dial payphone in around 1981. I had never used a non push button phone before and couldn't figure it out.

At the end of the Gunflint Trail up by Grand Marais there was/is a pay phone. I can still remember the number and used to give it over the radio so someone could call you on it when needed. I haven't been up there in 20 years or so.
