Good for you Walt, nice rats. Get well! I battled pneumonia all fall last year and never got to set a trap. Happy for you to get out there.

Have you coon trappers noticed a lot of scratch backs on your boar coon. My last 4 boar coon have some serious bite marks on their backs.

I just put up a 24# sow, and she had a few bite marks on her back.

I got 10 beaver this week, a bunch of possum, some big rats and had to use one of my otter tags

Finally got a couple days to get in some water. I am hoping to get about 5 more days. First couple days were 13 rats and a few coons. Small female coons and YOY that were about 10 lbs. Did not bring any home to finish. Rat sign is a bit below the normal for these small rivers and the water is very low. Dragged my otter sled over several areas with 1-2 inches of water.

Jordy, the world gets smaller as we get older! I hope Frank is doing alright and can still ride his horses.

Caught and released this bobcat today. Guess I am being greedy, looking for a big tom I have pictures of. But this is right before and then in the dirt cloud there is a bobcat! I have this trail camera for deer in this trail going to plum trees we planted. Had Coyote pictures so made two sets there.
I have a whole series I was really surprised by. During the night two coon came in and actually went after the bobcat. Not sure I should post them of not. But it is really interesting and never heard of it.

Nice job Jordan and son. Looks like a lot of fun and something he'll remember the rest of his life. I'm sure it brings back memories for a lot of us who trapped with their fathers.

I had a nice day today with 13 coon but the rest of the day wasn't as good. I skinned the first coon and cut my thumb pretty good on the second coon. I had to go to the ER for stitches. I came back home and skinned 6 more coon but by then the novacain had worn off and it started to hurt so I had to quit for the day.

Picked up 120 new acres to trap, looks very promising. Got a pile of coon sets out today, lots of corn damage.

They gave me a tetanus shot. I was due to get one next year anyway so now that's done. Brenda is going on the line with me today to help out and possibly pull some of the line.

2 coon and a grinner today. One of those coons weighted in at 28 lbs. the other hit the 25 lb. size.
Expecting abut 2" of rain some time on Thursday, will have to have the line pulled by wed. I'm getting tired of skinning coon. I think the number is around 40 and we have at least 30 grinners. But only 5 skunks.

Rough day on the river line. Got a few rats and a male mink. Wanted to set out a bigger line but only set 1`0 sets. The wind has toppled about a dozen trees along one section and they have blocked the river in several places. I got hung up in a bunch of branches trying to get through and had a sizable limb swing back at me and hit my glasses, cut my nose and the glasses flew somewhere. Spent a lot of time looking but could not find them. Got my backup pair on now. Sign is normal which is not too high on these waters. Did see a decent 8 pointer. He must have been watching me for quite a while before he spooked.
