This morning about 0710 hrs. 195 yd shot. Pushed a doe out into food plot and followed her.

Been trying to get a shot opportunity at this buck. He was best one using my 400 acres this season.

Unable to figure any kind of pattern by him. Did get a look at him thru a scope at 115 yds last season in January, but I had already killed my two buck limit on another property & I was doe hunting. He had about the same size rack last year but increased body size this year. Weighed 160 lbs live weight and had zero kidney fat. He likely weighed close to 180 or 190 back in August. He was 4.5 years old.

It is a blessing that I'm not deserving of, even though I have put in the work, the money, and the hours.

I have one more chance for additional Georgia bone the first week of December. Its a public land bonus quality buck hunt over in SW Ga. Took 3 years to get selected. One of 35 hunters.

Deer hunting evolves for most folks and during the past decade I have gradually shifted to the "seek one" concept. I thoroughly enjoy locating a mature deer and trying to kill that deer. Along the way I may still take a good buck that I encounter, but I still put nearly all my focus and efforts on the good'un.

What a challenge this ol'boy was......never in same place two days in a row. Would go missing for a week. Would show up on a camera 3/4 mile from last pic. I was blessed & lucky.
