Sitting in a Drs waiting room. Got the TV on. I think its a king kong remake with the incredible hulk instead. Its hard to know. More commercial time than movie time. Every time I watch TV I am reminded why I don't.

I think the problem with many things is when they became 24/7/365.
When we were kids if you had a TV. The station signed on in morning and off in evening. Other than news at 6 and 10 if there was something that you found interesting to watch. It was probably after news at 6 or Saturday morning. Most Saturday mornings I was out at day light or before fishing, hunting,checking traps, anything but waiting for TV to come on. I might have radio going on some station playing what ever music I liked.
Anyways once the world went to being fully open 24/7/365 with both work and play. The TV in the back ground needed more crap to fill the always on mode.
Im guilty as everyone else. Used to be radio on in back ground in my youth. Still is when I'm in garage or shop. But in house pretty much TV in every room even leave it on for the dogs when leave home without them.
Used to be news paper or magazine in most waiting rooms. Doctors office or car shop. Now it TV and wifi connection.

Ditto , every time I am some where with a TV like a hotel , I flip through the channels and turn it back off again

she spent basically all of her last 4 years on earth watching it and lost her mind doing it

well that and maybe being in assisted living from 91-94 years old during covid , she moved into assisted living when she got out of rehab for the hip she broke in September 2019. a couple months in assisted living and covid hit and they all were sent to their rooms , meals delivered , everyone basically in solitary.

There are a lot of days our tv never gets turned on, for days at a time. Dad called it the one eyed monster.
