Spent the last few days waterfowl hunting with my son and a couple of buddies from Canada. We stayed at my brothers place in SD. Had a great time!

Did real good on Snow geese the first day.

Was my sons black lab BB’s first waterfowl hunt. My red one Kit is half sister to BB and showed her the ropes. They worked great together. Several long double retrieves without the usual trading and bickering.

My son took the dogs around the lake to look for a drake we thought went down. Kit found it after 20 minutes or so of searching the tall grass and cattails. Turned out it was banded. My sons having it mounted.

He was pretty proud of that duck. When my buddy went to get in the front seat the drake was all strapped in. My son yelled from the back “oh, there’s room for you back here Wayne”. Lmao

Seeing more mallards around this year on the potholes. Good hunt so how hard was it to get a 10 day license or does way south not do the draws? Here we can get a Rez license for our out of state hunters they have a goose camp and duck options along the river.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

We have to apply for the ten day in July. We put the 3 day privet only in as second option. One guy drew the 3 day this year so he just watched our last morning. Tons of Mallards around this year it seems.
