We like ours 3" in diameter and smaller. The bigger they get, the more they taste like dirt to me. We grow hundreds of pounds of them for cover crops/fodder. But we will snag a few to stretch the potato harvest further.

I like them raw or fried in butter and onions.
I tried planting some in my garden, but the deer wiped them out as soon as they grew to an edible size.


There was this bar that was so rough they checked you for a gun and if you didn't have one, they gave you one.
