This morning in Western NC, a driver on US74 in Swain County was struck by a falling cat which was dropped by a bald eagle. Windshield was destroyed, driver is OK, but the house cat didn’t survive.

I was driving down the road one day and saw a streak of orange going through the trees. Hadn't a clue what it was until it passed the timber edge. Eagle was carrying a very upset orange cat.

Your chances of being killed by a cat falling from the sky are small, but never zero.

The prison I used to work at used to have regular owl residents. They'd usually pick off the roosting pigeons ,but a complacent cat wasn't out of the question.

Interesting!!! I have watched Goldens swoop down get a prairie dog take up high and drop drop it. Then after it his the ground of coarse it kills the the dog. The golden comes back down to retrieve its lunch I have seen it many times. Nature at it's best!!!!

Time for a new Farmer's insurance commercial...........lol
