I don't want to be hijacking anyone's thread, but I was wondering, what other calls would work for calling in coons? Would rabbit in distress work? Or woodpecker in distress maybe? My Johnny Stewart executioner only has one call designed for coon and that's the coon & bird fighting one but it has tons of other "distress" type calls in the predator category. And, can you call in possums? Thanks everyone!

Never had a coon respond while coyote calling CC. Best bet is to ask Santa for a FoxPro that you can customize the sounds on. I called a lot of coons with a cheap Wildfire FoxPro.

Alright thanks ADC, I'm not sure if a FoxPro is in Santa's budget lol. But I picked up a Bone Collector coon squaller mouth call at Fleet Farm this morning so maybe that'll work

I’ve tried numerous times over the years with zero success, until I bought a lucky duck with coon distress 2 loaded on it.. all I can say, is you better be ready when you push the play button… the squaller is really made to get a treed coon to look at you so you can see it’s eyes, sometimes they will bail out of the tree , but not always

$130 for a New FoxPro Patriot at Bass Pro/Cabelas right now. Watch for black friday specials next week, Probably get one for under $100. Also they sell refurbished ones occasionally that are cheaper than new.

Thanks! Darn, when it said it calls predators and coons I thought it would work for calling em in. I guess I need to get a dog now so I can use the squaller laugh

I used to coon hunt with hounds. Have called them out of den trees with a mouth blown squaller. takes a little practice. Can probably get on you tube and find the sound to imitate. Worked about 30% of the time. I am certain a few of those times dogs were slick treed. No coon to get to come out and have a look.
