My neighbor gave me a box of traps and equipment, in it I found a one handed fleshing knife. Do these have much utility? Are they better for some things over a two handed knife?

There a few one handed fleshing knives/tools out there, which one is it?

In the case of the grizl getter, it's really good on tails of critters, especially otters

I use mine for rats and mink as well. Little bit better than a spoon.

Standard process for me, scrape a coon with a 2 sided knife - board coon - hang nose down and use the one handed fleshing knife to do a general scraping/cleaning of any grease, hair, sawdust, or whatever might be left.

I've used a round hog scraper, worked good on small critters and spot work...

My favorite one hand fleshing knife is a Swedish hoof knife which is shaped like a triangle with a long handle , the smaller one I had disappeared when I moved its worked well also .

You're friend along the snare line .
