Was thinking of ordering several dozen of the #3 Eliminators
I like how they are a hybrid of the old Montgomery Step-in and Northwoods but on the other hand the Bridger dogless look great too more specifically the jaws look more rounded .
I’d appreciate any and all input.
Thank you

Do you want a floppy non-adjustable dogless pan or a rigid adjustable tension dogless pan?

The Montgomery style dogless is adjustable if you know how to adjust them and when adjusted properly stay that way better than any other trigger system out there. The two best coyote trappers I know prefer them over anything else. And I'm quickly becoming a fan myself.

Have you gotta bend something or tighten a screw to adjust the pan on the Montgomery style dogless pan?

If ya gotta bend metal....no thanks. But, to each his own. MB550s are loved too, but not by me (no adjustable pan tension.)

I have put a bunch of coyotes in my wolf creek no.3's. These were the early ones with the short jaw tips. I switched all the jaws out to no.3 bridger jaws. They are a perfect fit to the wolf creeks.
I have noticed on the newer wolf creeks, they have longer jaw tips. So no need to switch jaws on the newer ones. All of mine are all fully modified and have zero issues with them.

I have no experience with the Wolf Creeks but I’m a big fan of the Montgomery style dogless.

There no “floppy pan” when they’re set.

And there’s no need to adjust pan tension if it’s always right.

I ran 18 Bridger dogless briefly. I absolutely despise the pan design on the Bridger dogless (and others) for a coyote trap. Wet gumbo packs in that hole formed between the pan and frame, freezes, and you end up having to pull the entire thing, take it home, thaw it out, etc etc. And now you have a dirty trap at home. Ends up eating up a lot of iron. No thanks.
