What model does both if the signals weak? Do any of them run off a satellite instead of the cell towers? My cat country is rugged river breaks not great for cell coverage.

Looks like the SIM cards are for connecting not photo storage I don’t think one is made yet. I think T mobile uses satellite tech but I’m not sure if that’s an advantage.

If you mean storage, Tactacam uses SD cards and/or on board storage for pictures.

Cell cameras store pictures to the microSD cards and send the pics if and when they get a decent enough signal to send. Money wise you may as well just run normal cameras if service is practically non-existent in the areas needed. No point risking breaking antennas in an area that they cant work.

My Tactacam came with chips for AT&T or Verizon. I’ve noticed it gets better service than my cell phone. I assume it’s just due to the antenna.

Like BandB said, it also stores the pictures on an SD card.

Lost a lot of photos on my last elk hunt in the Black Hills just trying to limit the loss if there’s a way.

I'd say tactacam is a good choice for that then. It's also got a really good battery life from my experience. I've got mine to set to send the pictures once a day and I'm going on 13 months with 8 lithium AA's
