I went and got a Death Ray from NO-BS Lures and it is no joke! Works awesome for dispatching coons, I like how it doesn’t get them bloody. Anyways, I’ve been cutting off all of the skulls and baculum (pecker bones) to sell, as I heard there was a market. Anyone know where to sell them? I also went ahead and attached a picture of how the skulls and baculum look before I freeze them, just wanted to know if I need to clean them any better.

Thanks for looking!

There is a market for both. Usually you need to have skulls and baculum cleaned. Much easier to sell them.

For years I sold raw skulls of ermine, mink, marten, otter, beaver, and porkie. Bears and wolverine also, but they were in a different world of buyers. So were prices. Baculum also, and same price structure. I rarely sold cleaned other than when I started selling my personal collection.
Taxi.net is a good place to sell those things.

Just doing what I want now.

There is a market for skulls and baculum, but it is a limited market, especially on common species like raccoon.

Baculum need to be from mature animals. No juveniles.

Skulls need to be #1 quality. No broken teeth. No fractures. Must be cut off back far enough that the occipital condyles are not damaged. Those are the 2 bumpy bones near the spinal hole.

Cleaned items will be worth more than uncleaned. But if clean them, do a good job. Sloppy cleaning is almost worse than uncleaned.
If you are going to sell uncleaned, freeze them as soon as possible after skinning. Rotten skulls and bones are nasty and difficult to sell.
