This was the same. No gaminess at all, and like you said, kind of sweet. I think it would have been great served over egg noodles, but I can't do that because of my low carb diet.

I like to cook mine the same way, put them on a big pile of mashed taters (no tater skins for me) and make milk gravy with the leftover grease.. it pairs nice with a big 20 ounce mug of Guinness!
