Caught him on one of the trotline I still have out..it’s not out of my way and I have a few pockets in the area.
This is the latest Ive ever caught a flathead this size..
I’m guessing maybe 40-45 pounds.
I personally think it was a little present from GOD.
Lots of nuggets there to help feed the family.
Definitely needed the boost after several days of frustration. [Linked Image]

Cook that belly meat on the grill. With some butter, garlic, lemon pepper, and Parmesan. Closest thing to lobster you'll find.

Live bluegill, about 4-5 inches long.
I have an endless supply of them.
There’s a pond that’s full of bluegill that I aquired permission to fish because I helped remove beaver and otters from it several years ago.

Might be a bit tricky to get them here in the next few days… weather is going to change…

A big one!!!! The skull would be cool to keep on one of them and clean it up and display with mouth wide open.

I’ve gotta an idea on how to taxidermy the head..I’ll probably mess around with it this next spring when I have more time to mess with it

Spell check sucks, steak the fish whole with or without the skin

Skin can be removed after cooking easy

Nice fish .Next one you get that size hang him up and cut his tail off to bleed him.Skin him and ice him overnight in a ice chest. It makes much easier to filet.I bleed anything over 5 lbs except a channel cat.

I think you will like it cooked that way. I use one of those stainless steel wire grilling baskets. It makes it easy to flip them and keeps from sticking to the grill. I like to cook mine directly on top of a chimneze charcoal starter at around 700 degrees.
