But when your _____ mother is _______ enough to bring a loser of a man into her life as your step-dad, you do indeed become a "product" of that person even though you don't share blood. He is there raising you, or not raising you, whatever the case may be, but he's still in your life when you are in your formative years, and therefore, you are a product of him. Now, what a person in that situation decides to do about it with their life, that's on them. Blaming your poor life decisions on a crappy upbringing only goes so far.
