I got one about identical to yours....No marks, paid 5 bucks for it years ago...otherwise know nothing about them...

Some correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that a broad axe is a long handled, two hand, tool used for squaring beams while a hewing axe is short handled, one hand, used for shaping smaller pieces. Am I correct or are the terms interchangeable?
